The BYSL Board has approved revised Bylaws for vote by the BYSL Membership in December 2015. You may review a copy of the Proposed BYLAWs here: Proposed Bylaws

The minutes of the November 2015 Board meeting where the Proposed Bylaws were approved are also available.

Also a message from new President, Jason Lance:

Association Members,

At the October regular meeting of the BYSL Board of Directors a motion was passed to submit for approval an amendment to the Association Bylaws. The Bylaws require that any proposed amendment be approved at an annual or regular meeting and shall require “a vote of a majority of the number of eligible voters present at the meeting”. Each affiliated team and each member of the Board of Directors shall have one vote. No proxy voting shall be allowed.

 Additionally, notice of the proposed amendment must be given in the meeting minutes at least 30 days prior to a vote being taken. For the purpose of that notification the November minutes have been attached and will also be posted to the BYSL website. The vote will take place at the BYSL Regular Meeting scheduled for December 17th, 7:00pm, at the Skyline Activities Center. The proposed amendment to the Bylaws will be distributed to the Club Presidents and team coaches the first week of December for review and consideration ahead of the vote.

In general the amendment to the Bylaws will implement the following changes;

Creation of an Executive Director position which will be the Chief Executive Officer of the Association and will supervise and control the day to day operations of BYSL. The Executive Director shall not be a member of the Board of Directors. This will be a paid position that will be posted for hire following approval of the Bylaws.

Clarification of the Registrar position as a paid employee of the Association. The Registrar shall not be a member of the Board of Directors. The Registrar will no longer be designated as an Officer of the Association.

Thank you,

Jason Lance

BYSL President
