Youth Development Program (YDP)

U5/6, U7/8, U9/10 (small sided games)

Please send the completed registration form.  A copy of your players birth certificate (if you are new to the program). The registration fee to the address above.  


U10 Jamboree: All players that are U9 & U10 are requested to be at the 1ST Church of the Nazarene located at 1900 Grandview (please enter through side – TAN door) on Monday, March 19 from 5:30-6:30 pm. (Check the age chart above for confirmation of each age group.)*

U8 Jamboree: All players that are U7 & U8 are requested to be at the 1ST Church of the Nazarene located at 1900 Grandview (please enter through side door) on Thursday, March 22, from 5:30-6:30 pm. (Note: There will not be a jamboree for U5 & U6 players. However, their first practice will be Tuesday, April 17th at the Sunnyside Fields.)

Note: U10s will play on Monday & Wednesday (5:30-6:30 pm), & U8s & U6s will play Tuesday & Thursdays (5:30 6:30 pm) practices and games will be at the Sunnyside Fields. Please check the BYSL website for additional information. If you’re interesting in helping coach in the YDP program, please contact the BYSL YDP Director.

(Note: There WILL NOT be a jamboree for U5 & U6 players, but they will need to be at the Sunnyside Soccer fields (near EIRMC) ready to play on Tuesday, September 6, @ 5:30-6:30 pm for their first practice.)

Please bring to Jamboree: ball, shin guards, water, and cleats (or tennis shoes).


Soccer Ball: Size 3 for U6 & U8s; Size 4 for U10 & U12s.

YDP INFORMATION: YDP will continue to play co-ed. 

U10s will play on Monday & Wednesday (5:30-6:30 pm) (7v7).

U8s & U6s will play Tuesday & Thursdays (5:30-6:30 pm).

All practices & games will be at the Sunnyside Fields (near the EIRMC Hospital).

Please note: Please indicate on your registration form any special requests; and the director will do her best to accommodate these requests (where possible). YDP Fees will cover the cost of a soccer jersey, insurance, local and state fees, and SUTL fees. Please MARK “X” the SIZE needed for your player on the registration form (where indicated). Required paperwork for new and returning players (and parents); birth certificate (for new players only), Player Code of Conduct and Parent Code of Conduct for old and new players (forms can be downloaded off the BYSL website).

NOTE: Registration forms WILL NOT be accepted at the YDP Jamboree.

Field sizes
There are two fields running crossways on fields 1 and 4 (1 is the southernmost and 4 the northernmost field). The fields are painted in yellow. The boys will usually play on one of the two fields at field 4 but will occasionally play on field 1. The dimensions are approximately 60 yards x 40 yards. The goals are smaller (5’ by 10’).

Coach volunteers
We will continue with small sized teams.  U6 will play 4 v 4, U8 will play 5 v 5 and U10 will play 7 v 7.  We need coaches!  If you would like to volunteer to coach a team please contact me.

Jamboree:

A jamboree is an event where players play without being coached. These players are evaluated and placed into a variety of skill categories. The coaches then use these evaluations to create balanced teams.

Location & Practice Schedule: Practices and Games will be from 5:30-6:30 pm.  All YDP games and practices will be held at Sunnyside Park.

Uniforms: Please understand that our uniform is a team jersey.  We do not provide socks or shin guards.  We will order jerseys for the players using the size indicated on the registration form. There will be no additional cost for the jersey. Players will need to bring tennis shoes/cleats, shin guards and a soccer ball.

  • U10 and U12 players will need a size 4 soccer ball.

  • U6  & U8 players will need a size 3 soccer ball.

Game schedule: We will publish a formal game schedule after the season begins.  All YDP games and practices will be held at Sunnyside Park.

Communication: We will communicate primarily through e-mail and secondarily through the web site. Please don’t forget to put an email address on the registration form.
